Remember when Kacey Simon had to figure out how to rock braces? She could have used the help of YouTube beauty guru Michelle Phan who worked with Seventeen magazine to create a makeup look specifically for those who wear braces. Check out her tips to get a pretty berry smile that will help your teeth look whiter and skin with a matte finish for a soft contrast to shiny braces!

- Bright colors highlight every flake, so smooth your lips with a moisturizing balm before applying lip color. (Try E.l.f Lip Balm, $2, Walmart stores)
- Stop Color from bleeding by filling in your entire lip first with a neutral liner. It will keep your color in place all day! (Try Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Stay-On Lip Liner, $3, drugstores)
- To prevent hard lines, which can look too severe with braces, apply color with an eyeshadow brush. Start at the center of the mouth and move outward to the corners. Blot, then add a second coat for staying power and blot again to matte it down. (Try Lancome Rouge In Love in Midnight Rose, $25, lancome.com; Sonia Kashuk Eyeshadow Brush, $8, Target stores)
